Project Overview
______
What is Chime?
Chime is a mobile banking App offering features such as no-fee banking, and early direct deposit that aims to help users better manage their finances.

Chime's mission is to change the relationship between people and banking by redirecting the focus back to the user. In this student project we will explore the current Chime mobile app's basic functionality with the goal of increasing engagement and inspiring users to be more in control of their finances.
This redesign is going to attempt to solve specifically for:

- Enhanced user interface to make the app easier to use
- Motivate users to interact daily with Chime banking app and make the new features feel more "sticky".
- Make the app more fun and engaging to use

Problem
______
How can we innovate the existing app to help millennials keep track of transactions and manage their money efficiently and fun?
Tool Used
______

Sketch
InVision
Adobe XD

Timeline
______

Three weeks.

My Role

In this 2 person group project, we were focusing on redesigning the user interface and some of the user experience on the Chime mobile app. We did so by gathering user insights for new features, and conducting usability and functionality tests to identify user pain points.

My role on the project focused on User Research, Wireframes, Mockups, Prototyping, User Testing and iteration.

        Results
        ______

The Chime mobile banking app has a lot of potential to manage personal finances, but the site layout can be confusing when incompatible functionalities are mixed together; causing the users to feel overwhelmed and lose interest fast.

The re-design boosts engagement with the app by highlighting attractive and competitive features to the users in a prominent way. This case study focuses on the home screen and "quick view" of the financials, emphasizing the fun in saving money. The redesign leverages new and existing functionality to help the user set their intention on their financial goals and plan for their next big purchase, all with an exciting beautiful layout that is more inspiring.

                What's next?

After redesigning the home page, we can explore incrementally adding new content cards to help the user become more financially educated and aware of more opportunities or offers. For example up-selling high-yield savings account features or offers on balance transfer cards from partners.
